McCaffrey’s Estate is a 25 acre Hunter Valley winery located in Pokolbin, only 2 hours north of Sydney. Stay in one of our two bedroom cottages for a relaxing escape in the countryside. Unwind by the outdoor pool, picnic in the vineyard or curl up with a glass of wine by the fire, every season has something wonderful to offer.

The self-contained cottages have fully-equipped kitchens with an open plan living & dining room with air conditioning. There are bluetooth stereos, a TV with a DVD player and a fireplace to warm up in the winter evenings. Each cottage has it’s own bathroom with a hairdryer. There are electric blankets for guests to stay warm on cool winter nights, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and all your linen is supplied. Ample free parking right outside your cottage. (Please note Cabernet Cottage has an oven, Merlot Cottage does not).

You can enjoy an alfresco meal on your own private patio with BBQ and outdoor furniture, surrounded by lovely gardens. Enjoy a walk through the vineyard or watch the sunset over the dam. A complimentary breakfast hamper with eggs, bacon, milk, bread, condiments and a selection of cereals is included for you to prepare your breakfast in the kitchen.

Highchairs, travel cots and children’s toys are all available along with board games and cards to keep everyone entertained.

There are also dogs, chickens and ducks onsite, providing fresh eggs for guests as well as plenty of kangaroos to watch in the vineyard.

The property’s Cellar Door is open daily from 10:00-17:00, where you can enjoy a relaxed tasting of boutique wines, handpicked from our vineyard. Book in for a fun interactive hands-on wine blending class with ‘A Winemaker for the Day’.

Award winning restaurants, boutique cellar doors, wedding venues, day spa, horse riding, a micro-brewery and a dedicated bicycle path right here on Hermitage Road. You will also find championship golf courses and Hunter Valley Gardens a short ten minute drive away. If you are attending a concert there is a shuttle service to transfer you to and from the concert venue dropping you right back to our door.

Book a helicopter to collect you from our estate and tailor your own day with a wine tour, a long lunch or both! We can assist with recommendations for wine tours via helicopter, mini bus or private vehicles.

We can arrange your own picnic in the vines, let us know if this is of interest at the time of booking.

This was our first stay here in the 2 bedroom self contained cottage. Both Danielle and Declan are amazing hosts. The accommodation was child friendly and allowed us to relax with our 18 month old daughter. Beautiful location with stunning views. In particular overlooking the dam and vineyards from the back deck often with Kangaroos in full sight. Our daughter loved the chickens, ducks and pool. This place is a hidden gem! Wines are also amazing and we will certainly be back

Location, location, location!!! The cottage was not only located in a perfect position to be close to everything – it was super close to the wedding that we were attending at Ironbark Hill. The pillows were super comfy. The owners, Danielle and Declan were extremely welcoming – Danielle even called a day before to explain how to get there and say hi! #customerservice The breakfast provided was just a cherry on top! It was beautiful being able to have breakfast, looking out into the rows and rows of vines! Thank you McCaffrey’s!

Im hesitant to give a good review. We want to keep this place a secret for just us! Such a great stay. The place is amazing and we loved it. It is so homely and cosy. The grounds are fantastic for a walk. The pool is awesome. Our kids loved it. Danielle was polite, efficient and a super host. The little touches of bacon, fresh farm eggs, bread and milk and cereal selection were so generous and unexpected. The location is also a major major plus. Right amongst the action of Hermitage rd. Many vineyards within walking distance. You won’t be disappointed.
